Minibuses in Kyiv have become much more expensive: where and how fares have changed

From January 6, 2025, the fare on minibuses between Kyiv and Brovary will increase to 35 hryvnia.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Tsn.

This is evidenced by announcements placed in the bus salons by the local carrier. According to the new tariffs, travel from Kyiv to the Driving School will cost 30 hryvnia.

Oleksiy Pavlenko, Chairman of the Kyiv Region Carriers Association, confirmed the information about the revision of tariffs on the Brovary direction.

“There are many reasons for the fare increase: the excise tax on fuel increased by 3 hryvnia from January 1, the minimum wage increased, spare parts became more expensive. Everything became more expensive, so the fare will change,” he explained.

It is noteworthy that the Brovary direction kept the old tariffs longer than all the satellite cities of the capital. According to Pavlenko, Brovary is the last district of the Kyiv region that is revising tariffs upward. The increase will be 5 hryvnia – from 30 to 35 hryvnia per trip.

“I think that 5 hryvnia is not a significant increase in price against the backdrop of hyperinflation. At least it is not as tragic as the lack of transport links between the capital and the capital region,” the chairman of the Association of Carriers noted.

And the legendary “Polar Express” is returning to Kyiv: when the first trips will start.
