Company TikTok will sponsor the inauguration party of the newly elected US President Donald Trump.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Politico.
TikTok will spend $50,000 on an inauguration party honoring the influencers who helped Donald Trump spread his campaign message, according to the party's organizer. The party is scheduled for Sunday — the deadline for the company to split from its Chinese owner or face being banned in the U.S.
The company's CEO, Shou Tzu Chu, is expected to attend the event. The celebration comes as the president-elect vowed to “save” TikTok after Congress voted to force its sale in April, and as Washington policymakers grapple with the fallout. TikTok is also trying to overturn the law in the Supreme Court.
“Tik Tok is not a partisan platform, but who they are is a public platform for free speech committed to the free and fair exchange of ideas on their platform,” — said event organizer and Republican National Committee Youth Advisory Board Co-Chair C.J. Pearson in an interview.
While TikTok is the main sponsor of Sunday's event, with sponsorship packages ranging from $10,000 to $50,000, other sponsors include Kalshi, which recently appointed Donald Trump Jr. as its strategic adviser, and the American Conservation Coalition.
