Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico responded in his usual style to the recent visit of members of the Slovak parliament to Kyiv. He called it a “gesture of sycophancy.”
This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to Pravda .
The Prime Minister accused opposition deputies of preparing a coup d'etat. He stressed that the current government “will be ready for anything, especially for a possible “Maidan”.
According to Fico, the Slovak MPs who traveled to Kyiv on January 17 “kissed Zelensky's ring” and allegedly promised him support for Ukraine's NATO membership if they came to power. They also allegedly assured him that Slovakia would join the Western troop contingent in Ukraine, he said.
“The government I lead will never support Ukraine's membership in NATO, because it will only lead to World War III. The government will also never propose sending troops to Ukraine so that their weapons can be directed against Russia,” he emphasized.
Fico stated that he plans to “respond” to the termination of Russian gas transit through Ukraine and threatened to veto further EU aid to Kyiv.
“Robert Fico is a Slovak prime minister, not a Ukrainian servant,” — he added.
At the same time, he defended his fellow party member, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tibor Gaspar, who allowed for the possibility of Slovakia leaving the EU.
“I absolutely agree with him that Slovakia must prepare for all possible crisis situations that the European Union may find itself in in a very short period of time,” the Slovak Prime Minister concluded.
At the same time, the media revealed Russia's plans for 2025: what Putin has planned.
