Trump's Possible Ukraine Peace Plan: Sources Reveal Two Key Aspects

Twitter LinkedIn

The team of newly elected US President Donald Trump is discussing possible parameters for negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Rbc.

According to sources, two key aspects are being put forward.

The first parameter assumes the temporary exclusion of the issue of Ukraine's membership in NATO from the current agenda. The topic will not be finally closed, but postponed indefinitely.

The second parameterconcerns the freezing of hostilities along the actual front line at the time of the agreements. However, Kyiv considers such a scenario unfavorable, since it does not solve the fundamental problems of Russian aggression and the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity. The experience of the conflict in Donbass shows that any freeze could escalate into the resumption of active hostilities.

At the same time, the key factor remains the position of Russia, which at the moment does not demonstrate readiness to cease hostilities. Russian troops continue offensive operations in Donbass, and there are no signs of a possible abandonment of aggression yet.

It is worth noting that, despite hopes for the end of the war in 2025, Ukraine is preparing for a different course of events. Strengthening the defense capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and ensuring their readiness for a long-term war remain priority tasks that will remain relevant even if Trump comes to power.

At the same time, Trump and Biden came to a consensus on Ukraine: what politicians talk about in conversations.
