Ukraine and its Western partners are taking another strategic step to stabilize the situation in the country.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Resident Telegram channel.

“According to information from sources in the Office of the President of Ukraine, the head of state Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer. The key topic of discussion was the agreement on the introduction of a European peacekeeping contingent, which will be led by Great Britain, France and Germany,” it said at the beginning.

Then it was added that the Ukrainian side requested a contingent of 100 thousand troops, but the partners expressed their readiness to allocate forces of 50-60 thousand people with equipment.

It is assumed that this will be the first such peacekeeping project under the leadership of several key EU countries. Its goal is to ensure security in the most affected regions of Ukraine, protect civilians and strategic facilities.

According to the agreements, Great Britain will coordinate the actions of the peacekeeping contingent, ensuring interaction with NATO.

France will provide engineering units and heavy equipment, including armored personnel carriers and artillery. Germany, in turn, will focus on medical support, as well as providing humanitarian corridors.

The insider also told why military officers began to be arrested in Ukraine.
