According to the report UN, 63% of internally displaced persons in Ukraine live below the poverty line, facing a lack of resources to meet basic needs.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Resident telegram channel.

“Many of them do not have permanent housing and also face social pressure and discrimination from fellow citizens. The humanitarian situation remains critical. Volunteers of international missions emphasize the need to review the state aid strategy,” it says at the beginning.

The key areas should be providing affordable housing, supporting employment and protection of the rights of displaced persons.

The lack of a systematic approach to solving the problems of displaced persons increases social tension. UN officials are preparing to publish their findings to attract the attention of the international community and spur Ukraine to action.

Notably, the period for passing the VVK for those “of limited fitness” will be extended.
