On streaming The premiere of the animated film “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep” took place on the Netflix service. This one and a half hour film is already available for viewing with Ukrainian subtitles.

This was reported by URA-Inform, citing “UNIAN”.

The film is based on the short story “A Bit of Sacrifice” from the collection “Sword of Destiny” by Andrzej Sapkowski. The story focuses on the adventures of Geralt, who helps a prince in love with a siren, and at the same time meets a bard girl, Essie Daven. The action of the film takes place between the events of the fifth and sixth episodes of the first season of the series “The Witcher”.

Of particular value for fans of the game series is the voice acting of Geralt, to which Doug Cockle, the official voice of the hero from the CD Projekt RED games, returned. The roles of other characters are played by actors familiar to viewers from the series.

Critics call Sirens of the Deep a pleasant addition to the Witcher universe, although they note that the animated project does not live up to the title of outstanding. One of the strong points is the participation of Cockle, who gave the film an atmosphere close to the game adventures. However, the action scenes, according to some reviewers, sometimes look awkward.

Nevertheless, for fans of the Witcher universe, both books and games, the cartoon will be an interesting addition. Not only does it expand the story of the characters, but it also creates a sense of continuity between the various adaptations of the franchise.
