How to Recognize Fake Friends: 6 Signs You're Being Used

TwitterLinkedIn

Friendship is trust, support and sincerity. However, not always the people we consider friends are really so. This is reported by “URA-Inform”.

Sometimes behind the mask of goodwill lies self-interest, envy, or a desire to take advantage of you.

Psychologists highlight several signs that will help you understand that your friend is actually insincere:

  1. You feel drained after communication – a sincere friend charges you with energy, and does not suck it out of you. If you feel worse after meetings, it is worth thinking about.
  2. They are only friendly when they need something – these people remember you when they need help, but ignore you when you have problems.
  3. They rejoice at your failures – envy is disguised as indifference or teasing, and successes irritate them.
  4. They talk about you behind your back – If you find out that your friend is gossiping about you, this is a warning sign.
  5. They don't respect your boundaries – a true friend respects your feelings, time and personal space.
  6. You constantly feel obligated – if a friendship is built on a sense of guilt or duty, it is manipulation.

If you recognize someone from your circle in these points, you should think: do you really need this friendship?
