Over time, pillows can accumulate dust, sweat, and other odors, even if they are aired regularly. However, there are several effective ways to freshen them up without washing.
URA-Inform reports this.
1. Airing. One of the simplest solutions is to regularly air your pillows in the fresh air. The sun's rays help kill bacteria and refresh the filling.
2. Baking soda. Sprinkle baking soda on the surface of the pillow and leave for 30-60 minutes, then vacuum thoroughly. Soda effectively absorbs odors and removes excess moisture.
3. Essential oils. To give your pillows a pleasant scent, you can use a mixture of water and a few drops of essential oil (for example, lavender or tea tree). Spray the mixture on the surface and let it dry.
4. Freezing. If your pillows have acquired an unpleasant odor due to bacteria, you can place them in a bag and leave them in the freezer for 24 hours. Low temperatures will help kill germs and refresh the fabric.
5. Vinegar solution. Dilute table vinegar with water in a 1:1 ratio, lightly spray the pillow and leave for several hours. After that, it needs to be aired well.
These methods will help eliminate unpleasant odors and extend the life of your pillows without the need for frequent washing.
