In Kyiv, the evacuation of private cars during an air raid has been officially banned. The exception is when the vehicle creates serious obstacles for special transport.

The innovation was reported by URA-Inform, citing the Telegram of the head of the KGVA, Timur Tkachenko.

The head of the Kyiv city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, stated that the issue was resolved at the official level.

“I gave an official order to stop the temporary detention, that is, the evacuation, of private cars during an air raid alarm. Finally, this issue was settled not by word of mouth, but in a normal manner,” he noted.

The document states that evacuation will only be carried out if the vehicle is obstructing the passage of rescue and municipal equipment, public transport, military vehicles or ambulances.

This decision is aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens, since previously the evacuation of cars during alarms could make it difficult for people to access shelters.

It is worth noting separately that Kyiv remains the only city in Ukraine where public transport is suspended during air raid sirens.
