Ukrainian Olympic boxing champion Oleksandr Khizhnyak shared his plans for the near future. He noted that his main goal is to recover from injuries in order to return to active training as soon as possible and enter the ring again.

URA-Inform reports on Khizhnyak’s new statements, citing Xsport.

“I am a boxer, and I am happy to be involved in this sport. In the near future, I want to recover and work again, stepping into the ring,” the athlete said.

According to him, the return could take place before the end of the year or at the beginning of next year.

Khizhnyak also spoke about how the full-scale war in Ukraine changed the lives of his family and the athlete himself. He emphasized that he feels all the pain and responsibility for his country, and his motivation to win in the ring has only increased.

“The war has changed the lives of all Ukrainians. Every day my family feels what it means to live in Ukraine during the war, what it means to lose loved ones. It is very difficult and very painful. But I am grateful to our military and everyone who gives hope for peace,” the boxer noted.

The Olympic champion emphasized that his family did not leave the country and continues to work, help and support people in this difficult time. He is sure that every Ukrainian now bears a huge responsibility, and his sports victories are a contribution to the common struggle.
