An incident occurred in Kyiv involving patrol officers and a Mercedes driver who grossly violated traffic rules. An attempt to stop him ended with the police being forced to open fire, but they failed to detain the offender.

The incident was reported by URA-Inform, citing the Telegram of the press service of the Kyiv patrol police.

The conflict took place in the Dniprovsky district. The police crew stopped the Mercedes for violating traffic rules, but the driver behaved aggressively and did not respond to legal demands.

“During the document check, the man behaved aggressively, attempted to run over police officers and fled the scene,” the press service clarified.

In response to this, one of the police officers fired a shot at the vehicle, but this did not stop the driver – he continued driving.

At the moment, law enforcement officers are searching for the offender, and the investigative task force is recording all the circumstances of the incident. A video from the scene has appeared online, showing a patrolman trying to block the movement of a car.

The police call on citizens to comply with traffic rules and remind that ignoring the demands of law enforcement officers can lead to serious consequences.
