Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the telephone conversations between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin that took place on March 18.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine .
During a meeting with journalists, Zelensky noted that an air raid siren was sounding in Ukraine at the time of the conversation, which confirms that the agreements between the leaders have not yet yielded results. He emphasized that for Ukrainians, this is clear confirmation that peace initiatives do not work in the context of constant threats and aggression from Russia.
Zelensky also noted that the United States, in compliance with the agreements with Ukraine, proposed the initiatives that were discussed earlier in Jeddah. In particular, the Ukrainian side supports the proposals for a ceasefire in the area of energy infrastructure, but requires a detailed disclosure of all the details regarding the parties that took part in the negotiations.
“We need to understand who agreed on what specifically in order to make a decision on supporting this plan,” the Ukrainian president noted.
Speaking about the military situation, Zelensky said that Russia continues offensive actions on several fronts, including Zaporizhia, eastern Ukraine, Kharkiv and Sumy. This, in his opinion, is part of Russia's strategy aimed at creating pressure on Ukraine in order to issue ultimatums from a position of strength. The Ukrainian president also stressed that the prisoner exchange proposed during the talks was prepared in advance and is not the result of the latest conversation.

Zelensky especially noted that if Russia continues to attack Ukrainian energy, Ukraine will not be left without retaliatory actions. He also recalled that Ukraine will continue its military operation in the Kursk region of Russia, despite Putin's statements about the possible encirclement of Ukrainian troops.
“Our guys remain in place, and only we decide when and where they move,” Zelensky said.
On the issue of nuclear energy, Zelensky noted that Ukraine will not allow the use of the Zaporizhia NPP by Russian occupiers and will continue to defend its national interests in this strategically important sector.
