The head of the Polish National Security Bureau, General Dariusz Lukowski, said on air at Polsat News that in the event of a war with Russia, Poland would be able to hold out for only one or two weeks, after which it would run out of ammunition. The answer to this question was given in the context of a discussion of possible Russian aggression.

This was reported by URA-Inform, citing Polsat News .

When asked about ammunition reserves in case of war, Lukowski explained that the situation depends on the type of weapons and ammunition.

“This is possible in many areas, for many types of ammunition, but it cannot be said that we have the same situation for all types of weapons,” he noted.

According to him, problems with ammunition stockpiles mainly concern outdated equipment used in the Polish army.

The general added that if war broke out, Poland would be able to defend itself for no more than two weeks until it received help from its allies.

“Depending on how the fight is fought, this defense could last a week or two at current stock levels,” Lukowski said.

However, despite these problems, Poland is actively increasing its defense potential.

“We hope that within two or three years we will restore our strength to the point where we can really resist possible aggression from Russia,” concluded the head of the National Security Bureau.
