Danilov on statements regarding the “return of Crimea in the summer”: “Society was overheated with information”

But, in his opinion, there were no “fatal mistakes”.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov believes that Ukrainian society was “overheated with information” with statements about upcoming military successes. However, in his opinion, there were no “fatal mistakes,” he said in an interview with Voice of America.

The journalist asked a question regarding the information component of the war and the promises made, including by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, about the return Crimea in summer. Danilov said that it was “incorrect for him to evaluate our military,” and he would not do so, but he believes that society was overheated with information.

“And this must be recognized. But I emphasize once again that we are in a state of war. If there were textbooks, relatively speaking, for every day of war, it would be much easier to prevent mistakes. But the main thing is that they should not be fatal. There were none , and God willing, it won’t be. And we will definitely move towards victory,” he said.

Danilov believes that the information component is a challenge not only for Ukraine, but also for the entire civilized society.

“A democratic society operates according to the rules of democracy. But authoritarian totalitarian countries do not pay attention to any norms and rules. And here we have an imbalance in favor of the enemy,” he added.

Danilov added that social networks can have an influence and for elections in the United States, Great Britain, and the European Union.

“After all, today, with the help of artificial intelligence, you can create hundreds of thousands of accounts for yourself, behind which no one stands except the hardware and the intelligence services of the Russian Federation. And this is a huge challenge,” he believes.
