In Kyiv, a car was on fire on Akhmatova Street, there was no explosion – police

In Kyiv, a Volkswagen car burned on Akhmatova Street at night; the police have no information about the explosion.

Oksana Blyshchik, press secretary of the Kyiv police, reported this to Ukrainskaya Pravda.

“The car was on fire!” she said and denied information about the explosion on Akhmatova, 40.

According to Blyshchik, representatives of the police and the State Emergency Service inspected the scene of the incident, and the fire debris was sent for examination.

Initially, rescuers believe that the cause of the fire could have been an outside source of ignition.

When asked if the car could have been set on fire, Blyshchik said: “They could.”

Police later reported that as a result of the fire, the interior of the foreign car was completely burned out and parts of the body were damaged.

The car was parked in a guarded parking area.

The issue of opening criminal proceedings under Part 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (deliberate destruction or damage to property) is being resolved.

Law enforcement officers carry out priority operational search activities and investigative actions.
