Ukrainian prisons decided to keep collaborators separately so that they would not be influenced by other prisoners.

Deputy Minister of Justice Elena Vysotskaya announced this on Ukrainian Radio.

According to her, there are many patriotic people in prisons. Therefore, for the safety of the traitors, they decided to isolate the latter from the rest of the prisoners.

“When the question arose, for example, that the number of collaborators and criminal cases brought against them was growing in the country, and we realized that prisons would be filled with such a new subject for the country, their safety would need to be ensured much more difficult, because other convictions could somehow influence them in a way. Therefore, we introduced such a norm as separate detention for collaborators,” Vysotskaya said.

She noted that Russia tried to push convicts to riot in prisons, but the aggressor country failed .

“No matter how Russia provoked them immediately before a full-scale invasion (and we monitored this clearly, so that they would create internal conflicts for us, as a state, and then we would have to involve, for example, the National Guard of Ukraine or others ) forces to quell problems in cities where prisons and pre-trial detention centers are located), this did not happen. It should be noted that the patriotic spirit of prisoners was very clearly defined, and we received thousands of requests. some convicts so that they can take part in repelling armed aggression,” said the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice.
