Munich Security Conference, 2023 February 1 8, Russian and Iranian officials were not invited.
Deutsche Welle writes about this with reference to the DPA.
Moscow and Tehran will be represented at the forum by non-governmental organizations, and opposition politicians will come from the Russian Federation. Last year there were no Russian officials in Munich either.
Also, the nationalist and right-wing populist political party Alternative for Germany (AdN) and again the left-wing populist party “Sarah Wagenknecht Union – Common Sense” did not receive invitations. Previously, representatives of all parties represented in the Bundestag were invited to the conference, but last year the organizers abandoned this practice.
About 50 country leaders and 100 ministers are expected to take part in the event.
