The SBU has identified 5 Russian military personnel who tortured residents of Sumy region during the occupation

Russians also received suspicions in absentia of violating the laws and customs of war, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of individuals.

>The Security Service of Ukraine has identified five more Russian military men who tortured residents of Sumy region during the occupation.

As stated on the website of the special service, we are talking about servicemen of the 423rd motorized rifle regiment of the 4th tank division of the 1st tank army of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.

According to the SBU, in February-March 2022, the invaders took part in the seizure of the Akhtyrsky district of the Sumy region, in particular the city of Trostyanets.

During the occupation of the village, all five were part of Russian punitive squads that kidnapped and tortured residents. They were taken to a dungeon, which was set up in the basement of a local elevator that had been captured by that time. In the dungeons, people were subjected to torture – they were beaten tied up, and then, barely conscious, they were thrown onto a cold floor and kept for a long time without food or water.

Special. While beating the victims, he imitated their execution. For this he received the “Suvorov Medal”, which he was awarded after the invaders fled from the Sumy region.

In this way, the occupiers tried to persuade the victims to cooperate with the aggressor. But they failed.

Security Service investigators informed the defendants of suspicion in absentia under Part 2 of Art. 28, part 1 art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violations of the laws and customs of war, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).
