Eight members of a criminal group were planning attacks on a policeman and a deputy of the Poltava Regional Council.
The weapons seized from the attackers numbered 8 people. The criminals committed a murder in Kremenchug and were planning at least two more attempts.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, in September 2023, gang members shot and killed a resident of Kremenchug, who had a conflict with them, with a hunting rifle. They also spent several months preparing two more murders. The victims should be the deputy head of one of the district police departments in the Dnepropetrovsk region and a deputy of the Poltava regional council.
The attempt on the policeman was planned because of his professional activities. And the deputy became a target for criminals because of his activities in the fight against drug trafficking.
All members of the gang were informed of suspicion, four of them were given preventive measures in the form of detention.
