Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris said that the first conclusion can already be made regarding the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny – Russia is responsible for this.

Source: Harris at the beginning of her speech at the Munich Security Conference, reports the correspondent of “European Pravda”

Details: Harris noted that as of now the United States does not have independent information about the death of Navalny, but still expressed condolences to his family.

“My prayers are with his family and his wife Julia, who is with us now,” – she stated. Before that, the head of the conference, Christoph Heusgen, said that Yulia Navalnaya was in Munich and was scheduled to speak at the conference.

Harris expressed her belief that under any circumstances, responsibility for Navalny’s death lies with the Russian authorities.

“Whatever they say, I will say clearly: Russia is responsible for this,” – she said.

As European Pravda reported, the European Union also blamed the Russian regime for Navalny's death.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on the report of Navalny's death, noting that this news demonstrates changes in Russia, which has long ceased to be a democracy.

The Federal Penitentiary Service reported on the afternoon of February 16 about the death of Navalny in correctional colony No. 3 of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of the Russian Federation.
