Ukraine will never agree to a “freeze” of the war with Russia, – Budanov

The chairman of intelligence admitted that the Russian Federation gained access to Ukraine's plans for a counter-offensive.

Kirill Budanov

The Russians would be very happy to freeze the war as it is now by forcing Ukraine to recognize the territory captured by Russia.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, spoke about this in an interview with the Canadian public broadcaster CBC News.

“In this case, they would celebrate the victory. This will never happen,” Budanov said.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense admitted that Russia gained access to Ukraine’s secret plans for a counter-offensive.

“I won’t say more about the president. We received, let's say, information, evidence that the plans became known to the Russian Federation. This is a serious problem, and we are taking certain actions,” Budanov noted.

He noted that drones will never replace ground forces, but are only a way to support them.

“With the help of drones you can inflict damage on the enemy, but until, as in the Middle Ages, the military comes and plants a flag, nothing will change,” Budanov emphasized.
