In February 2024, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 13 Russian military aircraft.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this.
“Ten Su-34s, two Su-35s and one A-50 will no longer drop bombs on the Ukrainian military and civilians, and will not coordinate massive missile attacks. attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities,” the president wrote.
He emphasized that this achievement weakens Russia's ability to inflict further suffering and destruction on our country and people, and also demonstrates that Ukraine is capable of achieving significant victories on the battlefield.
The Chairman of State noted that despite the limited capabilities and lack of air superiority, Ukraine managed to make February 2024 a disastrous month for Russian combat aviation.
“I urge partners to expedite all decisions to further strengthen Ukrainian air defense and air capabilities. Together we must defeat Russia in the skies over Ukraine this year. We absolutely can do this if we have the necessary funds. Control over the skies will save thousands of civilian lives and help our troops on the ground,” emphasized Vladimir Zelensky.
He assured that these steps are necessary to implement solutions that will quickly put an end to Russian aggression.
