Minister Finnish defense Antti Häkkänen called on the West to strengthen support for Ukraine, Yle reports.

According to Häkkänen, Europe did not realize the seriousness of the war through the prism of history and did not provide Ukraine with sufficient support.

The estimated cost of the ammunition is about 1.3 billion euros. The decision on funding has not yet been made.

“Money to support armaments in Ukraine must be found immediately,” said Häkkänen.

The head of the Ministry of Defense also noted the importance of increasing domestic arms production in the EU countries. There has already been some success in this, Häkkänen emphasized.

“European countries have been able to increase their own production, and they are close to achieving the goal,” Häkkänen said.

Bloomberg recently reported that Ukraine may receive artillery shells found by the Czech Republic in the coming weeks. Details of these agreements have not yet been disclosed.
