Ukraine is interested in building power lines) to Poland.
Prime Minister Denis Szmigal stated this at a briefing in Warsaw, LIGA.net reports.
“We have an exemplary case of construction of a power transmission line from the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant to Rzeszow. This deepens the integration of the Ukrainian energy system with the European one. We are interested in the construction of new cross-border lines, in particular Novovolynskaya – Chelm, Lvovskaya – Krosno, Drohobych – Krosno,” said Shmigal.
He noted that together with the construction of interconnectors this will strengthen the energy independence of both countries.
“Russia will never again dictate its terms in the energy sector on this continent,” Szmigal emphasized.
- In May 2023, Ukraine and Poland resumed power transmission line 750 kV Khmelnitsky NPP – Rzeszow, which has not been used since the early 1990s. There is also a 220 kV power transmission line between Ukraine and Poland Dobrotvir – Zamostya.
- In February 2024, Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudrytsky announced the construction of three main power transmission lines.
