CPD proposes to fight Russian disinformation on Telegram.
The head of the Action Center, the Center for Countering Disinformation of the NSDC, plans to come up with a proposal to jointly develop a law to resolve the situation with Telegram channels and counter Russian disinformation on this network.
About the 14th issue of the joint project of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the NSDC and Ukrinform ” About the war,” said lieutenant, head of the National Security and Defense Council Center for Intellectual Property Andrei Kovalenko.
According to him, in the Russian Federation, Roskomnadzor, on the first occasion, banned 13 Telegram channels at once, while at the same time, Russian channels promoting enemy propaganda.
“On the one hand, in the Ukrainian information space, Ukrainian Telegram channels have pushed the Russian context to the margins and help maintain information security, on the other hand, Russian channels are available, servers are in Russia, etc.,” noted Andrey Kovalenko.
< p>What to do in this situation? I believe that it is necessary to seat administrators of large Ukrainian telegram channels, media, government representatives, influencers at the table, sit down together and develop a specific law that will suit all players and actually stabilize the situation and there will be uniform rules of the game for the entire market. Perhaps this law will further limit pro-Russian telegram channels, including those run by Murayev’s journalists and so on. The center with this proposal will soon be officially released and we will offer such a solution. I will hope that they will support him,” added Kovalenko.
In turn, Dmitry “Diplomat,” director of the 12th “Azov” brigade of the NSU, emphasized that it is important “not to be stupid” and to understand that Russian channels promoted by enemy IPSOs.
“In order to distinguish between information and not be fooled by the enemy’s propaganda and IPSO, it is enough just not to be stupid,” added the “Diplomat.”
- Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, General Lieutenant Kirill Budanov said at the Third International Forum on Strategic Communications that the Telegram messenger poses a problem for the national security of Ukraine, but at the same time serves as a means of disseminating the necessary information in Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.
