Media: Cameron failed negotiations with Trump to unblock aid to Ukraine

The British Foreign Secretary was not even allowed to meet with Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson.

David Cameron and Donald that the UK Foreign Secretary talks David Cameron with US ex-President Donald Trump about congressional support for military aid for Ukraine turned out to be a failure.

During a private dinner at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, Cameron urged Trump to admit that it would be in the interests of the United States not to allow Vladimir Putin seize Ukrainian land. The British official also promised that before the NATO summit in Washington, all countries of the bloc will develop a plan to achieve defense funding at the level of 2% of GDP, which the former president especially insists on. Nor did Cameron's emotional arguments work, running into internal infighting within the Republican Party. In the end, he was not even allowed to meet with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, on whose political will the vote on the Ukraine aid bill depends.
