The court extended Kolomoisky's arrest and reduced his bail again

The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kiev granted the prosecution's request to extend the term of the preventive measure in the form of detention under guards of businessman Igor Kolomoisky until June 2, 2024, but again reduced the alternative to bail – from UAH 2.4 billion to UAH 1.96 billion.

This was reported by the Interfax-Ukraine agency with reference to one of parties to the meeting.

The court again rejected the proposal to release Kolomoisky on bail as a MP and refuse to arrest him due to health conditions, satisfying the demands of the prosecutor of the Office of the Prosecutor General Sergei Demyanchuk, representing the prosecution.

Kolomoisky is suspected of fraud and embezzlement of PrivatBank funds. The security service declared him suspicious under two articles of the Criminal Code: Art. 190 (fraud), Art. 209 (legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means).

Law enforcement officers established that the businessman, during 2013-2020, legalized more than 0.5 billion UAH by transferring it abroad. At the same time, he used the infrastructure of controlled banking institutions.

According to the investigation, from 2013 to 2014, Kolomoisky illegally took possession of UAH 5.8 billion. To do this, he created a criminal group consisting of bank employees, in which he was the founder and shareholder. in the amount of more than UAH 9.2 billion.

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court closed the proceedings in the NABU case against Kolomoisky, citing “Lozovoy’s edits.”

The head of the SAPO Alexander Klimenko said that the judicial prospects for Kolomoisky’s case have “very high chances.”
