In the Smolensk region there is a powerful fire at a refinery. Russia announced the attack

The Russian Ministry of Defense traditionally “shot down” all drones in its messages.

A fire was burning in the Smolensk region, and on social networks they published a video from the scene of the fire. Eyewitnesses say they heard about four explosions.

Attacks on Russian oil refineries

Ukraine regularly attacks oil refineries in Russia because they supply fuel for the occupying equipment. Thus, the largest Rosneft oil refinery in Ryazan lost its capacity as a result of a strike by Ukrainian drones. The plant suffered major damage to two of its four primary oil processing units.

Russian refinery throughput averaged about 5.23 million barrels per day in April, near the lowest level since last May. < /p>

The SBU has already carried out several successful attacks on Russian oil refineries, which have significantly reduced the export of petroleum products. One of the latest attacks was on the Kuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region. The plant suspended operations after the attack on March 23.

Some of the damaged refineries need reconstruction using high technologies to which Russians have no or limited access.
