Zelensky about strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation: we are working on systems to be more far-reaching

In addition to drones, Ukraine is also working on other systems to strike deep into Russian territory.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this, RBC-Ukraine reports with references to a press conference.

“Now everyone is thinking about how to save energy, and this is true. Saving our energy is often, I'll tell you honestly, a from the fact that we have inflicted heavy blows on generating energy facilities of the Russian Federation. And now we can talk with partners about what we can do to improve energy security. Because it has become very important for everyone.”

Zelensky added that earlier, such strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation with Ukrainian-made weapons were also critically accepted by Ukraine's western partners due to fear of “escalation”, but now no one will accept strikes with Ukrainian weapons.

To the question on the development of Ukraine's own long-range weapons, in addition to drones: “In addition to drones, we are also working on other systems that will allow us to be more long-range”

Strikes on Russian territory

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been waging a brutal war against Ukraine. Western countries, rushing to help the Ukrainian people, will provide them not only with humanitarian aid, but also with weapons. However, its use is clearly limited: it should not be used for attacks on Russian territory.

At the beginning of July, some US and European politicians called for this limitation to be lifted, as they believe that it would give the Ukrainian Armed Forces more opportunities for defense.

However, analysts at the Institute for the Study of War indicate that the US has already allowed Ukraine to attack on Russian territory only those targets that are preparing or already carrying out attacks on Ukrainian territory.

Recently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems in the Belgorod region, which were used to shell Kharkov.
