Keir Starmer and Vladimir Zelensky
The British government portal reports on Friday's participation of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in an emergency meeting of Keir Starmer's cabinet at Downing Street.
The Ukrainian leader is expected to brief officials on the situation in the Russian-Ukrainian war. One of the main topics of the meeting should be the fight against the Russian “shadow oil fleet”, thanks to which the Kremlin manages, despite sanctions, to increase funding for its military machine.
During the meeting, the signing of an Agreement on the support of defense exports should take place. which will help Ukraine raise £3.5 billion for the development of the Armed Forces. Ukrainian and British companies will invest in the development and improvement of military equipment and weapons.
Vladimir Zelensky will become the first foreign leader since 1997 to be involved in the work of the British government. In the previous case, US President Bill Clinton attended the ministerial meeting.
