Galushchenko: 5 thousand nuclear workers were evacuated from the territory of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia NPP

In February, the occupiers prohibited access to the Zaporizhzhya NPP for those workers who remained in the occupied territory. 

Ukraine managed to evacuate about five thousand nuclear power plant workers from the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant.

This was stated by Minister of Energy German Galushchenko , writes Ukrinform.

“To date, we have evacuated about five thousand people from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. They all work for the Energoatom company,” he said during the hour of questions to the government in the Verkhovna Rada.

According to Galushchenko, the personnel evacuated from the occupation Ukraine plans to use the nuclear power plant for the completion of units of the Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant.

The minister also added that since February 2024, the occupiers have prohibited access to the Zaporizhzhya NPP for those workers who remained in the occupied territory. These workers continue to receive salaries, which accumulate in their accounts.
