briefing of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
At the joint OB for the development of recruiting, the first results of the work were announced recruiting centers.
As stated on the website of the Ministry of Defense, over the past two months, the average monthly rate of attracting volunteers has increased by 3.5 times compared to 2022 and 2023.
Currently, there are 28 recruiting centers in Ukraine, to which more than 10 thousand people applied in the last quarter.
“Over the past three months, 10,120 people have applied to our centers, of which 3,120 are in the process of selecting vacancies , and more than 1,000 have already become military personnel or are completing their registration,” said Roman Gorbach, head of the Main Personnel Directorate of the General Staff.
Gorbach also noted that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine identified the main units that need priority recruitment – the so-called priority units. The recruitment of personnel to them is carried out in the first place and without additional approvals.
The Ministry of Defense noted that Ukrainians who contact the commander of a military unit or recruiting centers, but do not want to enter into a contract for military service, receive letter of recommendation after the interview.
They apply to the TCC, undergo registration and a military medical commission, and then they are sent to the reserve battalion. There, people are included in the list of unit personnel and sent on a business trip to a training center to undergo basic general military training, which lasts at least 30 days. After training, the military personnel return to the reserve battalion and are sent from it to perform military service in the position and unit that provided the letter of recommendation.
“This procedure works 100% for priority military units,” Gorbach emphasized.
Non-priority military units include rear units, support units, some security units, TCC and joint venture.
