The 100th Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces is probably stationed at the military base in Novocherkassk.
The Russians have built a new military base in the city of Novocherkassk near Rostov-on-Don to likely support Russian combat units. The base, 200 km from the front line, was built in May 2024, as evidenced by satellite images from Planet Labs, according to the Schemes investigation.
According to satellite images, the new military base is located between a penal colony and two unfinished general education institutions, on the site of another abandoned military facility – the cook school No. 195 of the Russian Civil Defense Forces, closed in 2011.
the first military equipment appeared on the site where the base was built at the end of August 2023. Then about fifty military trucks were parked at the site and a dozen tents were set up. Almost a year later, the base tripled.
Military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov, after analyzing satellite images, notes that this is probably the logistics base of the Russian Armed Forces, because only cargo and auxiliary equipment are located there. Schemes journalists also established that this base in Novocherkassk may probably belong to the 100th military logistics regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, created in 2024.
In particular, journalists managed to record the mobile phone of the deputy leader on the territory of the new military base in Novocherkassk division of Andrei Polukhin, as well as several other officers of the regiment. Schemes managed to reach several military personnel, one of them confirmed his presence in Novocherkassk.
It is known that “Storm Z” is currently deployed in Novocherkassk, which is in mainly formed from criminals recruited from penal colonies in Russia.
