Border guards in Lviv region expose two fictitious spouses

The men tried to leave the country accompanied by women with disabilities.

The State Border Service of Ukraine reported on its website a case of double exposure of citizens through fictitious marriages.

A 38-year-old Kharkiv resident and a 39-year-old native of Luhansk region hoped to leave the territory of Ukraine thanks to marriage documents with women with the second and third disability groups. They were planning to get to Germany and Slovakia.

However, the border guards found out that the couples were far from being spouses. The men and women were still unable to answer a number of simple logical questions. Now they will be held liable under Article 332 of the Criminal Code – “Illegal transportation of persons across the state border”. The relevant materials were transferred to the National Police.

As the press service of the State National Police joked, two couples at the border were “debunked” in this way.
