Detailed documents for criminals

In Ukraine, a Russian FSB spy group that was preparing to set fire to shopping malls and other places of mass gatherings in EU countries has been neutralized.

The suspects were detained in different regions. The main targets of the sabotage were shopping malls, gas stations, markets and pharmacies in Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic countries, the SBU reported.

“During complex events in the Carpathian region, the organizer of an enemy cell and his accomplice were detained. The attackers acted as part of a criminal group, the activities of which were remotely coordinated by personnel of the Russian special services,” the Security Service reported.

The Office of the Prosecutor General clarified that one of the suspects, a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk, contacted an unidentified Russian. For money, he agreed to find the people who committed the crimes. This interlocutor sent a list of objects that the Ukrainians were supposed to set on fire.

In total, the group included 19 people who were dispersed in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava regions and Zaporozhye.

They recruited candidates for money to commit arson of civilian objects. To find potential perpetrators, they used personal connections in criminal circles.

“In order to “send” recruited arsonists abroad, the defendants prepared fake documents for them. In particular, passports, driver’s licenses, education diplomas and medical cards issued on third parties,” the message added.

After committing the arson, the perpetrators had to film the fire of objects using their own phone cameras and transfer it to the FSB. The aggressor planned to use the video to prepare special information operations aimed at shaking the socio-political situation in the European Union. >mobile phones, flash drives, rough notes and forged documents that were used in bombing activities
