The attacker tried to destroy 8 electrical substations and one relay cabinet in different places in the Uman district.
At the final stage of the special operation, SBU officers detained the saboteur “red-handed” when he was trying to destroy a new energy facility.
During the search, a canister of gasoline and a mobile phone with evidence of his correspondence with the aggressor were found on the detainee.
Security Service investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 2 of Article 113 (sabotage committed under martial law);
- Part 2 of Article 194-1 (deliberate damage to power facilities).
The offender is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
