“Slavyanin” was an important element of the military logistics of the occupiers.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, in a commentary to the Public Crimea.
“Slavyanin” didn't really catch on at “Kavkaz” because there were direct hits on this ferry. It's a railway ferry, it's quite powerful and the last one. . And it was removed from the international route,” says Pletenchuk.
According to Pletenchuk, the ferry sailed from the port of “Kavkaz” to Varna in Bulgaria. By the way, the port of “Kavkaz” is the second largest in the Azov-Black Sea region and the fourth largest in the Russian Federation in terms of cargo turnover.
“The situation was so critical that after the loss of the previous two ferries, the Russians were forced to remove it from this route and put it on the “internal” route. More precisely, in order to connect the Russian railway with the Crimean, with our occupied railway. Accordingly, it performed this function, overloading more than 3/4 of the military logistics,” the Navy representative added.
The representative also emphasized that the ferry was an important element of the occupiers' military logistics, since it provided for the group in occupied Crimea and in the southern part of Ukraine, in the occupied territories.
“Now they will somehow solve the problem of breaking this chain. Its defeat is not accidental. In addition, after this defeat, they realized that this is not a joke. As for the fact that Ukraine controls the Sea of Azov with fire: this was once said by the commander of the Ukrainian Navy, but the Russians did not believe it. But after this strike, they realized that this is and there is,” Pletenchuk emphasized.
Pletenchuk also concluded that after the defeat of the “Slavyanin” the Sea of Azov was completely deprived of Russian military ships.
