Moldovan Prime Minister Rejects “Transnistrian Issue” in Russia-Ukraine Negotiations

The territorial integrity of a neighboring country is a separate matter.

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean has denied the scenario of including the issue of the fate of the unrecognized Transnistria in potential talks between Russia and Ukraine to end the war.

In an interview with NewsMaker, the Prime Minister said that Moldova's interests will be respected provided that the peace process takes place within the framework currently defined Ukraine. He also stressed that the Transnistria problem will be resolved by the Moldovan government together with interested parties – and only by peaceful means. So the politician sees no point in bringing this issue to negotiations that will be conducted without the participation of the Moldovan side.
