The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that the effective use of modern aircraft is to save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky thanked his partners for providing Ukraine with F-16 fighters to protect Ukrainian cities from Russian attacks.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“F-16 in Ukraine This means that there will be more destroyed invaders. There will be more downed missiles and planes with which Russian criminals attack Ukrainian cities. Thanks to our allies for this decision,” Syrsky noted.
He stressed that, first and foremost, the effective use of modern aircraft means saving the lives of Ukrainian servicemen.
“I thank the President, the Minister of Defense, and everyone who worked 24/7 to ensure that F-16s appeared in our skies. This is another important step towards our Victory,” Syrsky added.
F-16 in Ukraine
- Today, President Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine has received the first American F-16 fighters.
- Earlier, the British publication The Economist reported that the first 10 F-16 fighters arrived in Ukraine on the last day of July, with 79 expected in the future. And by the end of 2024, Ukraine should be flying 20 American-made fighters.
- The United States also agreed to transfer its missiles to Ukraine to equip the F-16s that Kyiv will receive from its European partners. These include the AGM-88 HARM air-to-ground missile, the extended-range JDAM munition, which turns unguided bombs into smart weapons, the GLSDB precision-guided munition, and the medium-range air-to-air missile.
