Guessing THAAD and S-400: India showed a video of the testing of the new AD-1 overshooting missile

The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization has thoroughly developed the AD-1 missile interceptor . All purposes for strengthening the anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense of India.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine via communications to the Bulgarian Military.

It appears that the AD-1 overshoots the American THAAD missile and the Russian C -400. Moreover, according to the stated characteristics, the Indian performance indicators are practically similar to the Russian and American ones.

The AD-1 missile is a key element of DRDO's Phase-2 missile defense program, which is aimed at defending against ballistic missiles with a range of up to 5,000 km. However, for its implementation, highly sophisticated long-range radars are needed, which can detect targets at a distance of up to 1,500 km. These are new hypersonic supersonic jets that develop a speed of 6 to 7 Mach, which is significantly higher than the speed of 4-5 Mach of Phase-1 missile defense missiles.

The AD-1 missile, designed for operation in the upper atmosphere at altitudes up to 100 km, is equipped with a two-stage solid-fuel engine and a sophisticated control system for advanced maneuverability. It is designed to quickly accelerate and reach high speeds, effectively complementing the atmospheric support and final speed maneuvers.

The Phase-2 missile defense system has a Swordfish long-range radar, which can detect targets in the area up to 1,500 km, significantly more capability of forward radars (600 km).

< p>Finally, the DRDO has conducted other extensive testing of the AD-1 as part of the Phase-2 missile defense system, testing radar, missile guidance and communications systems. Testing confirmed the effectiveness of long-range sensors, a low-density communication system and a missile control center.

Experts think that AD-1 has a lot to do with the American THAAD system, which is intended to target missiles on This final stage at altitudes over 200 km. Moreover, the two-stage design of the AD-1 will provide increased range of flight, incredible fluidity and excellent maneuverability.

As for the S-400, there is also a two-stage resurfacer 40N6, which has a range of 400 km and can hit targets at altitudes up to 185 km. In India, they are currently working on the creation of a moisture-based PPO system, similar to S-400, under the name Project Kusha.
