At night, Russia launched a missile and drone strike on Ukraine. The enemy launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Belgorod region – they were aimed at the Kharkiv region. The Russians also launched two Kh-59 guided air missiles from the airspace over the Sea of Azov. In addition, they launched four “shaheeds”. They managed to shoot down all the drones, only the air missiles, wrote Air Force Commander Nikolai Oleshchuk in Telegram.
“As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile forces and air defense units of the Air Force shot down two Kh-59 guided air missiles and four attack UAVs in the Odessa, Kherson and Kirovograd regions,” he said.

In the Toretsk directionThe Russians carried out 11 attacks near Severny, New York, Zhelezny and Toretsky. Toretsk and its environs were hit by 19 airstrikes (more than 30 KABs).
In the Pokrovsky direction the defenders repelled 28 assault actions by the occupiers in the areas of ten different settlements, which the enemy tried to storm with air support. The main enemy concentration areas are Vozdvizhenka, Zhelanne, Karlovka, Grodovka.
In the Kurakhovsky direction the Defense Forces repelled five attacks near Krasnogorovka, Konstantinovka and Paraskoveyevka. /p>

The General Staff also reports that over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,140 occupiers. The enemy also lost, among other things, 2 tanks, 36 artillery systems, 1 helicopter and 1 aircraft during the day. The total combat losses of enemy personnel from 24.02.22 to 08.08.24 were approximately 587,510.

In Nikopol, Russian troops carried out a targeted UAV strike on the territory of the State Emergency Service unit in the morning, the rescuers' press service reported.
As a result of the strike, the windows of the fire station were knocked out and the rescuers' equipment was damaged.
Fortunately, the personnel of the fire and rescue unit were not injured.
White House Anniversary Karina Jean-Pierre, commenting on the events in the Kursk region, recalled that the Russians are attacking Ukraine from this territory. She said this at a briefing, writes “European Pravda”.
Jean-Pierre confirmed the information previously voiced by her colleagues that Washington would contact Kiev to obtain information about the Kursk region. She also said that the United States continues to support Ukraine.
“We must remember that – obviously, there are Russian troops in this region. They are there and they are attacking Ukraine from this region. So, we cannot forget about this,” she added.
