There are circumstances that could prevent the summit from being held in 2024.
Ukrainian President Andriy Yermak said that Russia's participation in the second Global Peace Summit does not mean the beginning of negotiations with the aggressor.
According to Reuters, the official believes that the goal of the upcoming summit is to create a joint peace plan, which will be handed over to the Russian representative for review.
Work is currently underway to organize conferences on each of the ten points of Ukraine's peace plan. Yermak admits that some of them have difficulty achieving a common world position – we are talking about the complete withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of territorial integrity within the 1991 borders.
Ukraine, according to the head of the OP, would like the process to proceed quickly, but holding the second Peace Summit in 2024, as Kiev is striving for, is not guaranteed: “There are conditions without which the summit cannot take place.”
- Ukraine, according to Andriy Yermak, is working to ensure that China officially recognizes the territorial integrity of our state.
