The fire at the plant threatened to cause loss of external power supply.
ZNPP
The International Atomic Energy Agency, in a report on its website, spoke about a new problem for the Zaporizhzhya region. In addition to military actions, ZNPP is threatened by fires caused by heat. The IAEA mission workers observed fires at different distances from the plant for a week. The fire also raged under the Dneprovskaya and Ferrosplavnaya power lines, which are responsible for the external power supply of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
According to the report, this time neither of the two lines was disconnected. However, weather conditions remain favorable for other spontaneous fires. The situation, according to the IAEA, highlights the fragility of the external power supply of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
- Last week, the IAEA became concerned about the decrease in the water level in the cooling pond of the plant.
