Headquarters meeting on August 8, 2024
On August 9, Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
According to the President, the discussion focused, in particular, on the situation at the front and with air defense.
“First of all, we heard the report of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky regarding the situation in all key areas: the south, Kurakhovo, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Chasov Yar, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions. And regarding our defensive actions in the areas from which Russia launched strikes on Ukrainian territory,” Zelensky noted.
By the decision of the Headquarters, according to the head of state, a plan of subsequent actions was approved to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system to protect people, critical infrastructure and military facilities.
Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klymenko reported on the comprehensive protection of schools in cooperation with local authorities and communities.
Zelensky noted that the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Ivashchenko reported on Russia's latest terrorist plans, and the head of the SBU Vasyl Malyuk – on “special long-range operations.”
“Very effective actions!” Zelensky emphasized.
