Hungarian Government on Kursk Operation: “We are for a Ceasefire”

Viktor Orban's office is only concerned about its own energy security.

Orban's chief of staff Gergely Huyas commented on the operation carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region of Russia.

According to “European Pravda”, the official repeated “calls for peace”, noting that in the context of Ukraine not just defending itself, but also attacking, Budapest “wants a ceasefire”.

Orban's government is most concerned about its own energy security: they “remind Ukraine and Russia that they are responsible for this.” We are talking about the transit of Russian gas and oil through the territory of our state, which regulates the measuring station near Sudzha, which was captured by Ukrainian troops.

The Hungarian government constantly uses the rhetoric of “ceasefire” and opposes the provision of military aid to Ukraine both at the national level and at the EU platforms, which Budapest currently chairs.
