One of the New Seven Wonders of the World will celebrate Ukraine's Independence Day.
->> The main symbol of Rio de Janeiro, the Christ the Redeemer Statue, will be lit in the colors of the Ukrainian flag on August 24. This was announced on his page on the X network by the Ambassador of our country to Brazil, Andriy Melnyk.
According to the diplomat, the embassy's request was approved with the assistance of Orane Joao Tempesta, Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro.
Melnyk recalled that the 38-meter image of Christ, located at an altitude of 709 meters above sea level, was included in the list of the Seven New Wonders of the World.
In Kyiv, on August 23, on National Flag Day, the Motherland statue was illuminated in blue and yellow colors, and on Independence Day, the Hungarian capital Budapest will demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine, where our national colors will shine on the legendary Chain Bridge.
