ZSU found an alternative for armor on Abrams tanks, – Business Insider

The US received Abrams tanks without upgraded armor to Ukraine. The ZSU was hesitant to search for an alternative.

RBC-Ukraine reported this in a post on Business Insider.

As it turns out, Ukraine was discarding old models of tanks, without upgrading the armor. This is connected with the US's gain on secret technologies. The Abrams themselves were transferred without armor to the depleted uranium, as the Americans are fighting against.

This significantly hit the tank during the fighting – becoming a target for drones and artillery. In fact, in Ukraine, dry screens were produced for Abrams and for Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. According to the words of the great commander of the Combined Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Forces of Great Britain, Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, these innovations are “very, very simple, very effective.”

Closed, lattice armor became necessary through those on large tanks, protecting the beast much thinner, lower in other places on the tank hull. The Abrams was designed and built to fight Russian tanks, and not to survive against airborne threats.

Even though the incoming tanks are damaging the structure, the Russians still stink nikiv.

De Bretton-Gordon also noted that if the ZSU had more Abrams and Challenger tanks, “they would have fought them differently.” Instead of this, the “droplet support” makes the Ukrainians “fight with one hand behind their back.”
