Lubinets hopes that prisoner exchanges with Russia will become regular

The Ombudsman noted that as of now, the communication channel with the Russian side has become more systematic.

The authorized representative stated in the telethon that the Ukrainian side continues to communicate with Russia regarding future prisoner exchanges. Ukraine is trying to ensure that these exchanges are weekly, RBC-Ukraine reports.

The Ombudsman noted that as of now, the communication channel between him and his Russian counterpart Tatyana Moskalkova has become more periodic and more systematic. In addition, Ukraine has begun to receive more information from the Russian side.

“Could this indicate that we will begin some kind of periodic exchange processes? I don't know at the moment. But the Ukrainian side is doing everything to ensure that exchanges take place every week,” said the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.

Lubinets emphasized that one of the key factors influencing this is the number of Russian prisoners of war in Ukrainian captivity.

“Thanks to the guys who take Russians prisoner every day, today's exchange took place, and I hope that exchanges will become periodic,” he summarized.
