Syrsky: Defense forces fight daily for Ukraine's independence

Our Independence is in our blood. In the blood that flows in our veins, in the blood that our heroes shed for their native land.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky congratulated the military on Ukraine's Independence Day.

“We are the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and we fight for it every day, every second. We defended our Independence from the first days of the war – when we burned enemy columns, defended Kyiv, liberated the Kharkiv region, raised our flag over Kherson and Zmeiny Island,” Syrsky said.

The commander-in-chief also emphasized that the fight for our Independence continues – in the Pokrovsky, Toretsky, Kharkiv and other directions, where our soldiers, at the cost of super-effort, stop and destroy the enemy.

“Our Independence is in our blood. In the blood flowing in our veins, in the blood that our heroes shed for our native land. Our Independence is in our rage towards the enemy for his atrocities in our cities and villages, for the tears of our children, for the suffering of our prisoners in Russian dungeons,” the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.

Oleksandr Syrsky added that our Independence is in revenge for every brother and sister who gathered with weapons in hand, defending their land and freedom to their last breath, and in the words of the Ukrainian prophet Taras Shevchenko: “And on the renewed land there will be no enemy, no adversary …”.

< Every Ukrainian soldier and sailor, sergeant and officer brings these words to life every second, bringing our Victory closer. For our Independence is in our faith in Victory. Victory that will sanctify it forever. Happy Independence Day! Glory to Ukraine!" — the congratulations read.
